Chance and Green Encounters

“I guess when we expect and choose to see the beauty in everything, we subconsciously plan and dress for the things leading toward it. For we don’t want to pale in comparison when we encounter its magic.”

Here’s the thing with a spur of the moment decision. It can make you realize that life waits for no one, it will always demand a blunt “yes or no” to enjoyment. And sometimes,  you just “have to grab it by its haunches and you gotta hump it into submission.”

Mine came in the form of a free ticket. From my mom, nonetheless. See, that morning, I was just dusting my fifteen-year-old bookshelves then few hours later, I was boarding a plane bound to Cebu. Reason? Unadulterated chilling.

Kidding.

Urgent family matters always make a good disguise for an impromptu reunion. That should explain the free ticket.

While the adults discussed their affairs, the trivialities of the city and provincial life, me and my brother (along w/ a troop of sun-kissed 6-10-year-old cousins) headed off to a nearby beach.

On our way, we stumbled across this path with green walls adorned with small romantic flowers. Okay, “stumbled across” is too strong a phrase while I am purposely carrying heels when I know my feet are initially told to wrestle with the unassuming white sand and to drown in the crystal blue waters of Bantayan Island.

Need I say more about the aptly toned dress?

Staged? Not really. I guess when we expect and choose to see the beauty in everything, we subconsciously plan and dress for the things leading toward it. For we don’t want to pale in comparison when we encounter its magic.
