“I think I’ve got too much fringe and shimmer but less Isabel Marant bohemian frippery going on to actually fit the formulaic ‘Coachella’ look.”
Did you notice a recurring pattern? It’s actually a late realization on my part as well. But recently, my sartorial pursuits have been spurred by the art of dancing. First, there’s that wild enchantment with the Flamenco dancers and then the hip swinging Saturday Night Fever disco situation of which there was an honest confession of dancing like a drunk chicken.
And yet today, I’m still grooving towards the uninhibited world of ballroom dancing: Waltz, Tango, Jive, Rumba, Jazz and just about every dance performed in those festooned dresses.
You see, I could also claim this look as some cliché attire worn to annual music festivals but I think I’ve got too much fringe and shimmer but less Isabel Marant bohemian frippery going on to actually fit the formulaic “Coachella” look. Also:
“No suede fringe was harmed in the making of this post.”
But back to the story, I’ve had my fair share of ballroom dancing during my days as a student. I can still vividly remember every waltz, reverse turn, quick step and Pas de bourrée my partner/s and I performed then in the hopes of the semester ‘s more appealing grade disposition in physical education.
But let’s be honest, our stupid giggling and eye-rolling mischief in between wrong footwork and uncoordinated hand gestures are far more enjoying than GPA obsession.
Right?
So, go ahead now. Just swing it.*
